Child Morality
Child Morality can be an interesting topic to consider. Finding out who is responsible for an action committed by an individual can be hard. My belief on this topic is that parents and the methods of their parenting are responsible along with the child. Some people say it’s always the parents fault or it’s the Childs fault. I disagree with that mentality both parties play an important role in the Childs development.
For example it’s a parent’s job to teach a child wrong from right. On the other hand everyone has an idea of right verses wrong from birth. Therefore a child is also responsible for his or her actions. In the story “Thank you M’am” the young man knew what he was about to do was wrong, but since he had no one to take care of him he did it anyway. In this situation who do you blame just the child or the parent? The answer is you can’t blame just one the child may be innocent because he had none to take care of him. His parents might be innocent because the child committed the act when they weren’t present. This is why I believe that both parents and their children must work together in finding out what is moral and what isn’t.

“The Story of an Hour” by Kate Chopin
1. The story says Mrs. Mallard “had loved him [her husband]–sometimes. Often she did not.” If she was “often” not in love with him, why did she marry him?
I believe in this point in time women did not have as much choices in whom they married.
2. What was life like for Mrs. Mallard in the home of Brently Mallard?
She was restrained from doing the things she wanted. She did not have many freedoms in her life
3. In the report of the train accident, Brently Mallard's name was at the top of the list of fatalities (Paragraph 2). Does this information mean that Mallard was an important citizen in his community? Does it also suggest that perhaps Louise married him, in part, because of his standing in the community?
I believe she married him because he was recognized in the community.
4. Do you believe Brently Mallard mistreated his wife? In answering this question, keep in mind the following: (1) In Paragraph 13, Louise Mallard recalls that Brently was kind and that "he had never looked save with love upon her." (2) However, Paragraph 8 had previously informed the reader that Mrs. Mallard's face "bespoke repression," and Paragraph 14 says Brently had a "powerful will bending her."
I believe that Mr. Mallared probably had two sides to him. I believe that he was a different person when he was around her, and when in public he would change.
5. How much of Mrs. Mallard's apparent unhappiness in her marriage was her own fault?
I believe she was not to be blamed because in this point in history she really had no choices she had to take what was given to her.
6. After Mrs. Mallard receives news that her husband died in a train accident, she goes to “her room.” Do these two words mean that she slept separately from her husband? Does the fact that no children are named in the story indeed indicate that she and her husband slept apart?
This means that she is now the owner of the house and she now owns her own room.
7. Research the life of Kate Chopin (1851-1904). Then decide whether the death of her husband in 1882 influenced her when she wrote “The Story of an Hour,” published in 1894 in Vogue magazine.
It did influence her a lot, because she can express herself through her stories
8. Did author Chopin herself face problems similar to those of Mrs. Mallard?
In some way but she did really go through the same situations.

“The Story of an Hour”
The Story of an hour is about Brently Mallard has died in a train accident, according to a report received at a newspaper office. Mr. Richards, a friend of Mallard, was in the newspaper office when the report came in. He tells Mallard’s sister Josephine of Mallard’s death, and accompanies Josephine to the Mallard home. Because Mallard’s wife, Louisea suffers from a heart condition, Josephine announces news of the tragedy as gently as possible.
Mrs. Mallard breaks down; crying then goes upstairs to a room to be alone. There she sits down and gazes out a window, sobbing. It is spring. Birds sing, and the trees burst with new life. It had been raining, but now patches of blue sky appear.
Suddenly, an extraordinary thought occurs to Mrs. Mallard, interrupting her grieving: She is free. She is now an independent woman–at liberty to do as she pleases. Because Mrs. Mallard seems to feel guilty at this thought, she tries to fight it back at first. Then she succumbs to it, allowing it to sweep over her. She whispers, that she is free.
To be sure, she will cry at the funeral. However, in the years to come, she will know nothing but joy and happiness, for there will be “no powerful will bending her” to do its bidding. Of course, she had loved her husband. Well, sometimes. On other occasions, she had not loved him at all. The important thing is that she is free.
Worried about her sister, Josephine pounds on Mrs. Mallard’s door, begging entry. But Louise, saying she is all right, tells her to go away. Mrs. Mallard then resumes her revelry about the wondrous future before her–all the days that will belong to her alone. Only yesterday she wished that life would be short; now she wishes that life will be long.
At length, she answers the door and goes downstairs with Josephine. At the bottom of the stairs, Mr. Richards stands waiting while someone is opening the front door. It is Brently Mallard. There had been a mix-up. He was not in the accident, or even near it, when it occurred. Josephine shrieks. Richards quickly moves in front of Brently to prevent Mrs. Mallard from seeing him. She died because of the joy of seeing her husband.

The Domino Effect

1.How is the "domino effect" affecting the global economy?
The Domino Effect states that one thing leads to another. Therefore when our economy is going down other countries will star to suffer as well. For example Global banks stopped lending money to each other as well.
2. What caused the U.S. housing crisis?
The housing crisis started with lenders handing out high risk loans to low income people.
3. Why is the cut in consumer spending a serious pr0blem?
Less people will buy goods, which will slow down the economies spending.
4. How is less spending affecting local and state governments?
Governments are cutting programs.
5.What trend does expert Brian Sack predict for the economy?
He sates that the problems will be hard to come out of.
6.What have the world's key central banks done to stop the crash.
The worlds key central banks Banks are Starting to work together to stop the crash. They did this by cutting interest rates at the same time.

Black Fraternal society's
What i know
I don't really have an understanding of the Mosaic Templars and what they did.
What i want to know about it
I want to know what did this group did and what were their goals and how they contributed to the African American culture.
What i learned
The Mosaic Templars educate people about African American life and business. They focuse on collecting, preserving, interpreting and celebrating African American history. the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center and Museum opened to the public as a state-of-the-art facility with more than 8,000 square feet of interesting exhibits.
What i still want to know
i still want to know why this group was not advertised as much. They are a very good source of information about African American Cultures.

Texting Article
I believe that texting can be dangerous to an individuals health. i am not big on texting i personally like to call and have a straight forward conversation with someone. On the other hand iv seen people who have a serious addiction to texting. People walking into stop signs and others is just the beginning. I have seen others get hurt like falling down stairs and getting hurt because they are to distracted from their surroundings. Therefore i agree with the doctors, when they stated that people should stick to one task at a time

What I know
I know the Presidential election will occur on November 9Th 2008

If the new president will be able to fix the current issues of the economy. In addition When the war in Iraq will be over what the aftermath will be.
What I learned
The US is currently in a 10 trillion Dollar Debt With other nations. The economic crysis will not be over in a few months it will take atleast a few years to get better.
What i still want to know
I still want to know what are the main reasons for the US to be in the Situation its currently in.

EDUC Narrative
Christmas time
Every kid has a favorite holiday mines will always be Christmas even though I’m not a follower of Christianity this time of the year always brought joy to me. Everyone goes out shopping buying presents for loved ones, families plan trips to visit distant relatives and kids start decorating the house. Mothers all over the world are in the kitchen cooking everything a person could eat. To me this time of the year was a special time. The reason I say was a special time is because as a person grows reality smacks them in the face.
Christmas is still a joyful time for some but to me it’s like another day to me. When I was a kid it was the happiest days of my life but now it’s like “whatever.”I don’t know if it’s a phase all people go through but I really miss those days of unimaginable happiness and joy. Everything is still done the same way as it was done those few years ago, the only difference is that the joy that I once had is gone. I guess there’s no cure for that everyone just has to grow up at one point in their lives. One thing that keeps me happy for those days is to see all the little kids my cousins and two sisters having the time of their life opening and playing with their presents. The look on their eyes is simply amazing and deep inside a part of me remembers how I use to feel.

Comprehension/Disscussion Questions
1. She was not able to communicate effectively with the others because of her style of having a conversation was different. The conversation would stop because everyone has to wait until its their turn to speak.
2. She explains that the western style of speaking is like playing volleyball or tennis who ever is closest to the ball hits it there is no waiting on a line.
3. No one has to wait their turn to speak or do something, there is no specific order.
4. She compares the Eastern style to bowling, everyone has a turn and has to wait that turn to give any input.
5. (a) taking turns applies to the eastern style of conversations
(b) Approach the topic some people just jump right in the conversations others wait until a person has finished to comment
(c) Pausing people do that to comprehend and develop an opinion on the topic

Comparing and contrasting
I like to play basketball and football. Two very different sports that also have some similarities. For example both sports require a lot of stamina, you have to be able to last in the game you gotta get your heart rate up because an extreme amount of running is involved. In addition hand eye coordination is also required in each sport, basketball need it to make accurate shots football need it to make accurate passes to moving teammates. The differences between the two are simply the rules and how the scoring is done. Therefore both sports are similar in the requirements needed and different in the way its played and scored.

Educ Study habits.
I believe that i need to improve my study skills when it comes to reading new information. I love to read, the only thing is i like to read only what I'm interested in. Therefore when i get new information to study i seem to get bored with it very fast. I believe that this is my only weakness when it comes to learning new things. I think that is the reason I have difficulty comprehending new information i have been given in some classes. On the other hand when its a subject I like its easy to comprehend and I am able to read at a steady flow because it grabs my interests and i read it to the finish. I don't know if this is actually a bad study habit , or if i just need to be more patient and understand that some texts are just not that interesting to read.
